Services

Our mission is to provide top quality machine quilting services in addition to prep and finishing services.

Longarm Quilting

I am currently offering edge-to-edge quilting for both local quilters in the Dayton/ Fairborn, Ohio area and those throughout the continental United States. There is a list of pantograph designs to choose from and I will work with each client to find a design that brings their quilt to life. Current pricing is $.02 per inch plus tax for Ohio residents. My machine has capacity for up to a king size quilt. There is a minimum charge of $45. I do not have a thread charge but depending on the design reserve the right to add an additional thread charge if the quilting pattern is extremely dense at $1.88/ bobbin. Any additional thread cost would be discussed with the client prior to starting the quilt.

Binding

Some of us love binding other’s not so much. It’s a necessary part of quilting, the icing on the cake and ties beautiful quilt you just created up in a big red bow. Pricing for binding services are as follows:

Making Binding $25

Applying binding front only $0.11 Front only, your fabric Applying binding $0.22 front and back, back is hand stitched, your fabric

Prices for binding application are per linear inch.

Quilt Top Prep

When preparing your quilt top and backing please be sure they are square, free of excess thread and lay flat. The removal of excess threads cuts down on any issues they might cause during the quilting process. If I do find that a fix is needed, I will contact you prior to moving forward with the quilt to either get permission to move forward, give you the opportunity to correct the issue or permission to correct it at the appropriate cost.

All backing fabric should be 5 inches larger than your top all the way around. So, if your top is 72 x 72 your back should be at least 82 x 82, so you are adding 10 inches total length and width.  This helps me ensure your quilt comes out looking it’s best when completed.

Batting

All batting is not created equal you are welcome to bring your own batting provided it is of the quality that will stand up to the abuse the longarm puts on it. The last thing we want is for the batting to tear or beard on the back. Several options are available if you chose for me to provide batting. If you choose to purchase batting from me the type and price will be discussed at the time of our consultation.

Additional Services as needed

The following services would be discussed with client’s as they arise and the client given the opportunity to make the correction themselves or pay to have the issue corrected by me onsite.

Piecing Backing on site $10 Mending loose or ripped seams, pleating, adding extensions to the back that is less than 10 inches larger than the top - $25/ hour Clipping Threads - $15 This can be a time-consuming task so please be sure to make sure the back of your quilt is cleaned up of loose threads. Squaring of top and backing - $10 each. Having both the top and backing square makes not only loading the quilt easier but makes the entire process go more smoothly and allows me to quilt it more precisely.
